Isaac Salfer is an assistant professor in the University of Minnesota Animal Science Department, where his research and teaching program focuses on dairy cattle nutrition. He grew up just 60 miles west of the Twin Cities in Dassel, MN where he had a small herd of Brown Swiss Cattle and was active in 4-H and FFA. Isaac was a member of FarmHouse Fraternity from 2010 to 2013, and served as chapter president in 2012. After completing undergraduate, he worked with Dr. Marshall Stern on a Master's degree at the U of MN, and moved to Penn State University to complete a Ph.D. He had a brief stint at South Dakota State University before returning home to the University of Minnesota. He is a big Gopher sports fan. He currently lives in Roseville with his wife Kahina, who is also a professor in the Animal Science department.
